Members of the ECPFHA and the GHGO participated in the Erin Fall Fair on this beautiful fall day in Ontario. Nine riders entered the gaited classes - a good turnout for our small group. The classes began with Bella Forma, and ended with the bareback class - Diane Vollick made it look easy as pie!
It was the judge's first experience with Paso Fino horses. She did her best, with instructions for us to do "fast gait" and "slow gait" in the classes, instead of "Corto" and "Largo". Camilla Willings was a big winner with her flashy horse, Mercanario de la Libertad. Sarah Monahan brought her new horse Vivo Valiente to the show - he did very well for a young 3 year old. Five other young horses were participating in their first season of showing - Fiesta, Diamante, Delasandra, Romantico and Orlando, all performed with good humor and style.
There were many distractions on the sidelines, draft horses and wagons in the next ring, amusement rides and crowds of interested bystanders. The show ring was constructed of temporary snow fencing - a photographers nightmare!
A good day for everyone! |
