Drayleon

Drayleon is a 4 year old registered miniature horse owned by Jan Belanger in Waverly, Ontario, Canada. His nickname is Dray, and he is 6.2 hh or 26 inches. I photographed this unusual little guy at Jan's farm along with her collection of mules, minis, Paints and Paso Finos horses in January. This is his winter coat - I may have to go back in the summer just to see what he looks like with his summer coat!

This is what his owner has to say about this cute mini. "I bought Drayleon as a yearling and plan on training him to harness and to pull the harrows in the pastures -- you know, saving on fossil fuels! He is a sweet heart and very tame and kind. At home, he and the other mini babysit the old mare we have. The two minis play with each other and with the stallion in the next pen."

Some of Jan's other horses have been our past "Horses of the Week" - the Paso Fino Horse, FS Classique and Taz the mule.
