Sorrel Quarter horse geldingFarrells Dry Badger (Scooter)

Scooter is a six year old sorrel quarter horse gelding. He was bred by the Farrells of Beaverton, Ontario and was previously owned and trained by Dan O'Rielly of Oro-Station.

In July of 2007 he was purchased by his current owner, Susan McKinnon and now lives near Copeland Forest. He is now enjoying life as a trail horse. We have completed 250+ hours of riding since his arrival. Many enjoyable hours have been spent in the forest and Scooter has performed well on the trail. This aspect of his training has been under the watchful eye of Jan Belanger on her trusty mules. At 14.2 hands Scooter gets a good work-out when out with her walking mules.

After a much deserved winter break we will be out working on achieving the next level of the Ride Ontario program. Scooter is a pleasure to own and ride. Winston Churchill once said 'no hour of life is lost that is spent in the saddle'. It just doesn't get any better!

Sorrel Quarter horse geldingCongratulations to Scooter for being our November 10th, 2008 Horse of the Week.
